Choke collars are never necessary if you have even a basic grasp of dog training and ownership. If you think you’re incapable of controlling your dog without one, you shouldn’t have that dog. A mother dog doesn’t teach her puppies by biting their entire neck. And even if it were comparable, it’s not necessary. Positive reinforcement is just as, if not more, effective.If you need a choke collar to control your dog, you shouldn’t be a dog owner.
Choke collars are sometimes necessary and don’t harm the dog if used properly. It’s like a correction a mother would give her pup.. a light nip on the neck.
